Bread and Wine: An Erotic Tale of New York

By: Samuel R. Delany, Mia Wolff
1999
44 pages

ISBN: 1890451029

Review:
Chip Delany, perhaps best known for his SF novel Dhalgren, also happens to be a Bear. This graphic novel (actually, it's nonfiction) chronicles his friendship with Dennis, whom he met on the streets of New York. The strong sexual content of this book may not be for everyone, however.

Fans of the Leonard and Larry comic will welcome this compilation of several years' worth of the strip (from the Advocate and more recently from Frontiers. Tim Barela's characters are well-written, believeable, never boring, and most of the men have facial hair! :-)
