Review:
Nobody is better at capturing the ups and downs of queer life than Michael Thomas Ford,
author of the popular "My Queer Life" syndicated column. This original collection takes
on everything from show tunes and Martha Stewart to the perils of dating and the son of
God himself, all some of the things that make life very queer indeed.

Review:
In 25 candid discussions, Bears on
Bears brings together 57
contributors from around the world,
from a rich variety of perspectives
and backgrounds. With lighthearted
playfulness as well as serious
analysis, these Bears (as well as
some nonbearish Bear-lovers)
describe themselves, their lives and
loves, their sense of masculinity, and
their flourishing
community-cum-culture. Widely
excerpted in the gay media, Bears on
Bears is the first interview book ever
(gay-themed or otherwise) compiled
primarily from online interactions.
This groundbreaking collection of
voices gathered from in and around
the edge of this unique culture is
both entertaining and enlightening.
Several of the interviews
were serialized on Resources for
Bears and some are still available in
the archives

Review:
Richard Isay represents a therapist with an empathetic voice whose own
struggle with sexuality extended over a period of many frustrating years.
Fortunately, he understands that given the choice no man would have
chosen to be gay. Therefore, there is no psychoanalytical cure. The only
alternative is for men to find self-acceptance within their particular sets of
circumstances. Isay wisely advises men not to make rash judgments about
coming out. Instead, he argues that there are many reasons for the closet,
particularly those constructed by heterosexually married gay men. This
book is a must read for all therapists, both straight and gay. It is also a
must read for anyone who wants to understand the problem of
self-acceptance for gay men.

Review:
This book is an excellent way for the gay male to let go of the baggage in his life that is the
basis for self-destructive behavior. Gay males all too often fail to live up to their
God-given potential because we carry baggage of growing up in repressive families,
schools, and communities. Isensee identifies the possible sources of this baggage and then
invites his readers to work it through for themselves with a seriesof questions at the end
of each chapter. Hence, this is a book to be worked through and the process can be
liberating or as the title states "reclaiming". Worth the read and the reflection.
