Add yourself to the BearClubs Database:

Please read this form carefully! That way you'll be able to get things the way you want them (if that's in our power).

Help is available for all of the input items. Just click on the item name.

Step 1: Required Information

All the information in this section must be provided, otherwise we cannot accept your application. You will be able to customize what information is given out later in the form. Any questions, contact us.

Club Name:

We need your Postal Address.
Address 1:
Address 2:
City:
State/Province/Region: (Please spell it out)
Postal Code: Country:

Please tell us the geographical "scope" of your club. First, enter the closest major metropolitan area to your club. Then, enter the geographical "scope" of your club; the region where most of your membership is (for example, "Dade County", "Western New York State", "Maui", etc.).

Metro Area: (just the city name unless the state/province is different from the Address!)

Scope:
Map:

What "type" of club is this? Although we generally cater to clubs for bears and their admirers, in some places, there might not be enough local support for a bear club, and other organizations definitely welcome bears.
Club Type:
If "Other", please specify:

Each club listed needs a contact person. We require the full name of that person for our files. The identity of this person will not appear anywhere on the BearClubs pages, but to avoid confusion and conflicting information, we prefer to only interact with one designated person at each club. The contact person can hand off this responsibility to another person (for example, when new offices are elected) at any time. Do not use nicknames in these fields! No information about the contact person will appear in any of the published pages! It is for RfB use only!
Contact First Name:
Contact Last Name:

We need the e-mail address of the contact person to send e-mail any correspondence (e.g., the BearClubs registration number and to let you know when your entry is about to become inactive).
Contact's E-mail Address:

What is your position with this club? If you are an officer, list the title. If your club assigns someone the role of club webmaster, note that. If you are a member who happened to notice that your club wasn't listed, enter "Member". This information helps us track our sources.
Club Position:

If the club has an e-mail address that is different from the contact's e-mail address, enter it here:
Club's E-mail Address:

Enter a password - it can be something simple like your mother's maiden name. You'll need this to access the club's record if the listed information needs to be changed! Type it in twice.
Password: Confirm:

Step 2: Optional Information

All information here will customize your entry. All the optional information will be searchable!

Most clubs have home pages. Don't forget to include the "http://" string if your home page is stored on an HTTP server (because a few are not)!
Home Page URL:

You can include URL's for the club's logo. If you include this, we'll try to access it as part of several of the services at the Resources for Bears. Again, the "http://" is required since files might be stored outside of HTTP servers (for example, under anonymous FTP).
Club Logo Image:

Finally, you can include a message that will be printed with your club's profile. For example, it can be a greeting, or list of upcoming club events. Your club will also have an Events Database as part of your BearClubs listing (see the Administration Page for more information). Please avoid embedding HTML if possible, and keep it to only a few lines.
Message:

Step 3: Send it off!

By clicking the submit button, you authorize the Resources for Bears to display a profile of the information provided by you in this form. The Resources for Bears shall not be held responsible for any consequences incurred from inclusion on or use of any of the Resources for Bears online services.

The Resources for Bears staff reserves the right to remove entries for disruptive behavior, misuse of the site, harassment, stalking, or attempts to copy the compiled database (in part or in whole). In addition, the staff reserves the right to edit individual database records in order to remove material (or links to material) deemed inappropriate, or to fix problems stemming from database entries.

Read this part twice!

When you submit this form, it will go into a queue of applications to be approved. By "approved" we generally mean a quick check to make sure the links work, etc. We have no qualifications as to what is meant by a "bear club", however, if we feel that something has been entered that does not meet with the spirit of the service, it will not be approved.

When approval takes place your will be assigned a bear club number. This and your password (supplied above) will be needed to change or delete your BearClubs record. (If you forget your club number, you can find it simply by looking your club up on BearClubs!) You will be sent e-mail when this happens. You listing will appear within 24 hours of receiving that e-mail message (the pages are re-generated every night).

BearClubs records will be active for a period of one year after your most recent edit. After that it will be flagged as inactive and will not appear on the RfB HTML pages. This is to avoid "link rot" on the WWW. You will be notified 30 days before this happens so you can use the EditBearClubs service to freshen your record. If your record becomes "inactive" don't panic! It is still in the database. Simply use the EditBearClubs facility to reactivate it.

I agree to these terms of service.
