Featured Bears: Leo Burmester

Review:
Have a look at that gorgeous bear Mr Burmester is !! Haven't you noticed him before ? He is one of the reasons I still keep watching this film. He's got one of the sweetest bear faces I have ever seen and all without loosing any of that masculinity he oozes throughout the film. Lovely eyes, marvellous smile, beautiful golden hair and beard...You can also see him soaking wet on his swimming suit during one of the most exciting sequences in the film. Give it a go and you will also fall in love with him!! Daniel G R

Featured Bears: Wilford Brimley   Brian Dennehy

Review:
Brimley is part of a retirement community that interacts with space aliens. There's a very memorable scene where he discusses having a hard on (swoon). A few bare chest shots too. Dennehy plays one of the aliens. No beard in this one, but still great eye candy. Followed by a sequel in 1988.

Featured Bears: Everett McGill   Jurgen Prochnow   Jose Ferrer

Review:
David Lynch's intentionally-bizarre interpretation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi classic. Since it crams Herbert's epic novel into a mere two hours, the pace is quick and perhaps confusing if you're not familar with the story. Plenty of bears amongst the Fremen, a race of desert-dwellers, including Stilgar (Everett McGill) and numerous uncredited woofers (especially the guy with long, coal-black beard...) Other furry-types include Duke Atreides (Jurgen Prochnow) and the Emperor (Jose Ferrer).

Review:
Bears in space! Another of those rare movies where all the actors in leading roles sport beards. Here's hoping this is what the future holds in store for us.

Featured Bears: Bradford Dillman   Kevin McCarthy   Paul Bartel   Keenan Wynn

Review:
For no apparent reason (other than that they look good) this Roger Corman produced campy fish fest manages the rare feat of having four of it's leading actors with full beards, and goes to show that a face full of fur is no protection from man-eating mutant fish. All this and Barbara Steele!

Featured Bears: Jonathan Frakes

Review:
A decent Next Generation movie with Jonathan Frakes directing. He therefore doesn't have as prominent a role, however is still quite bearish throughout. That is, until he shaves his beard for Deanna Troi!!

Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Year: 1999

Featured Bears: Oliver Ford Davies   Liam Neeson

Review:
Featuring Oliver Ford Davies as Sio Bibble, the cute daddybear governor of planet Naboo; Liam Neeson as a lightly-bearded and overly-serious Jedi master; Ewan Macgregor as a young, puckish Obi-Wan; Ray Park as Darth Maul in some jaw-dropping saber fighting scenes; and Natalie Portman's Queen Amidala, whose wardrobe will turn any drag queen green with envy.

Rating:
Length: 125 minutes

Featured Bears: Alec Guinness   William Hootkins

Review:
Why is it that the bears always have to die in the movies? Midway through "Star Wars," Alex Guiness gets acquainted with the business end of Darth Vader's lightsaber. Then during the assault on the Death Star, Lucas teases us with the sudden appearance of a very cute chubby bear named Jek Porkins (William Hootkins) as the pilot of Red #6. Almost as soon as he appears on the screen, he's shot out of the sky by a laser cannon. *sigh* Even the not-quite-bears get killed, such as Luke's old friend, the cute, mustached Biggs Darklighter (Garrick Hagon).
