Posted: 4/23/00 According to a posting on the BML, the owner of the bear clothing business Bear Manufacturing Co. was recently injured and is recovering. So if you've ordered from Bear Manufacturing recently, be patient. The owner pledges that he'll work through the backlog as soon as he can and we wish him well. (Thanks to Larry D.) Meanwhile all is not quite well at Lynn Ludwig's site, ludwigphotos.com. Mr. Ludwig is a a well-known photographer in the bear community and it seems that he's become, as he says, a victim of his own success. His site features many high-quality portraits and candid photos taken at various bear events over the last several years. But lately his site has received so much traffic that he had to take it offline for most of this month. But never fear -- expect to see the site back online after April 28th as Mr. Ludwig explores "other alternatives" for solving these recent problems.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Sentinel reports that the oppressive tyrants at Walt Disney World will soon allow their male employees to wear mustaches. In the past, Walt Disney has forbade them from wearing facial hair of any kind. Oh well, it's a start... (Thanks to SluggoBear) Here at the RfB, we have all sorts of exciting things going on. Hot on the heels of our sixth anniversary and the debut of our Spanish language pages, one of our team is about to embark on a cross-country road trip! The intrepid adverturer is none other than Mike Ramsey, our tireless volunteer coordinator, answerer of RfB email, and savior to anyone who's ever forgotten his NetBears password. Accompanying Mike on this trip will be Kevin Jackson, a club officer at Bears of Old Pueblo and all-around nice guy. With any luck, we'll be publishing a road journal of their adventures. So stay tuned to Bear News during early May! Their itinerary will be:
Kevin and Mike would appreciate tips on places to stay, places to eat, and things to do in the cities that they'll be visiting. If you're familiar with any of the locations on their itinerary and think you can help, Kevin requests that you drop him a line. And if you'd like to know more about these two wonderful gentlemen, check out their NetBear profiles on our site! Kevin is #2288 and Mike is #3.
