Gladiator

Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) and Maximus (Russell Crowe)

Review:
Hail the all-conquering bears!!! The sword and
sandal epic reinvented by Ridley Scott, a Bear
director, gives Oliver Reed his last chance to
shine on the big screen. Aside from that, there
is Russell Crowe's naked torso to salivate over,
Richard Harris doing his Daddy Bear bit,
with Derek Jacobi in a toga for the first time
in twenty years. Special reference should be
made of the opening scene with the hirsute
German tribe led by the most magnificent bear to
be seen in recent movie history. He's huge,
boys!!!

Thomas Kretschmann as Wassner

Review:
Edge-of-your-seat action/suspense movie set underneath the
Atlantic during World War II. The opening scenes take place on
a sub full of swarthy, bearded German sailors. Alas,
the rest of the movie focuses on the
heroic but hopelessly clean-shaven American navy boys. Their
mission: steal a device that encrypts the Germans'
communications, and prevent the Allies from losing the sea
war. Fortunately the woofy and rather clever German
captain (Thomas Kretschmann) gets plenty of screen time.
Excellent visuals and sound. When the sub is bombarded by
dozens of depth charges, you'll feel your seat shake.

The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas

Fred (Mark Addy), Barney (Stephen Baldwin), and the Great Gazoo

Featured bears:
Review:
Mark Addy wowed many bear lovers with his loveable lug character in
The Full Monty. This
time he returns to the big screen as Fred
Flintstone in the second live-action Flintstones movie. (The
first one featured another bearish fellow, John Goodman). Dynasty
fans won't want to miss Joan Collins as Wilma's mother.
