Gay.com Bears Get-Together
|
|
Hal sent
in this announcement about a get-together
for the Bears room on gay.com (Northeast region).
Date: Mon, 05 Mar 2001 10:16:53 -0500
Subject: Announcing: "Meet the Bears" - Providence, RI - 3/31
As an offshoot from the Bears room on gay.com, (Northeastern Region), I
am proud to announce another in the continuing series of "Meet the
Bears" getogethers.
Previously held in Philadelphia, PA and Hartford, CT, this time 'round
it's to be held at the Providence Eagle on Saturday, the 31st of March.
A leisurely night to meet and make friends, from both online and off.
We're also hoping to meet beforehand for a dinner at one of the local
dining establishments. (Wes' Rib House)? A special arrangement has been
made with the proprietors of the Gay Megaplex, the largest bathhouse in
New England, for a 24 hour "in and out" rate which also coincides with
the 4/1 "Bears at the Baths" event.
We already have RSVPs from guys as far away as Montreal, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, New York and possibly VA. Providence is one of the cheaper
airports in the country to fly in/out of, and is also, ahem, serviced by
Southwest Airlines. (Currently promoting a $39 one way fare from BWI).
Further info and hotel rates, etc., can be found at
http://ursatravel.com/mtb.html ,
and you can sign up for our group at
Yahoo Groups to find a roommate, etc., or to post a picture of yourself
at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/meetthebearspvd
If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.
Hope to see you there!

Bear Runs: Spring Thaw, BITO 2001, and Bears In Paradise Announced
|

|
The Kansas City Cave Bears have announced Bears In The Outdoors 2001, their
annual camping event. Set
for July 5-8, it will be held at Camp Gaea about an hour from Kansas City.
Besides food and fun, the event promises to raise money for various local charities.
And to give you an idea of what it's like, the
club's website
also has a gallery of photos from last year's event. For more information about BITO 2001,
contact the club.
If the West Coast is more your kind of place, the Northwest Bears have
their annual Spring Thaw gathering coming up in April. From a cruise to
a play party to brewery tours, there are all sorts of things planned. Details
and application forms available from their website
(http://www.nwbears.org).
And looking further ahead to May, there's the Bears in Paradise run hosted
by the West Florida Growlers. A recent posting to the BML promised
"a complete weekend package planned for you, some very special
Breakfast & Dinner Meals, a few fun and lite hearted contests, a couple
of Great parties, a day at the beach, a Dungeon Party and so much more."
As usual, you can get all the details on the club's
website.
